Guidelines for My Free Request Cycles

I've tried and keep this as concise and fun as possible. For quick ref, use the ctrl+f (or command+f) feature on your computer to do a key word search.

Anything you request from me is part of my portfolio and may also be posted to my Wordpress blog and tumblr sites. If I do this, there will be watermark to deter stealing and a link to the original here on dA will be posted. You will retain full rights to your original characters if you request them either by request or commission.

I will no longer be reserving spots in free request cycles. Those are logged on a first come first serve basis. _{If you want a piece faster than the request cycle opens you may send me a note about commissions (when I get a commission journal/ref piece up I'll link you to that here as well)}.
You may not resubmit a piece I have done for you as your own piece of work.
You only get one request per cycle. That means each time I open requests you only get to request one picture until I open the next cycle. 
When I close requests I will resubmit the same journal I opened it on and you should get an update feed in your inbox if you're following the journal. I will no longer individually inform you when requests are open/closed.


How do I make a request?

Once a request cycle is open you may request one of two ways. You can either,

1. comment on the journal that opens requests, or
2. send me a note

Do you offer to do icons? How about animated icons?

Sure! However I don't do pixels or major animation. If you want an animated icon there are plenty of other great artist out there who do fantastic jobs. These are the ones I've done:

- put just one image
- put a changing image
- add your name
- other simple customizations


Would you help us with color schemes for characters?

Yep With this one I ask that the character or picture be yours, as in your original work or something you bought, adopted, whatever. You can see an example here: fav.me/d4c9qig However, I do not do flats - does awesome flats!


May we repost your request work anywhere?

- As in using it as your icon for your profile or printing it to hang on your wall? Of course! Once I am finished with your request or commission I'll submit it to you without the watermark. You may use it however you wish as long as you do not make a profit from it (unless we have some other agreement/contract)
- As in posting the images as a submission to your gallery or using it as a preview image? Unless you're given special permission by asking me specifically, no.
- As in reposting the writing? Never.


May we request written pieces from you?

Yes! You may request short pieces about any of my OCs or pictures - OR! You may give me a link to a picture and ask that I write a short on it. The only details I'll know about the picture are the ones in the comments below it or any other information you give me. All information must be blatant as I will not assume things from the picture itself (though if there's a person shooting fire from their mouth I'll assume they're either a fire wielder or performing a fire breathing trick). Preferably this image is one of your own but if it is someone else's please ask them first! _{(see the last two blue bullets in this post)}

Be warned that what I write from the piece may not be what you imagine when you look at it. Please choose an open-ended picture. I don't write fan-fics. Shorts I've done: amarainsevi.deviantart.com/gal…


What kind of things and themes are you willing to draw?

There's a lot of stuff that I will draw. These aren't the only allowances but here's a general list:

chibis
your OCs (you retain full rights to them)
fan art
battle scenes, wounds, bandages
short literature
girl-boy love, boy love, and girl love _{(make sure to say if you want something cutesy or steamy here --see the below bullet before requesting these)}

As of right now I will not draw the following themes:

porn _{(explicit stuffs are not allowed by dA guys n gals!)}
excessive violence. _{I don't mind drawing battle scenes and wounded scenes but I will not draw geysers of blood. Besides, we have minors on this site, tsk tsk!!}


Backgrounds?

If you specifically request a background I will work with you on it. I'm still improving my background skills.


Will you draw the characters of others?

I prefer not to unless you've bought/been given the character design from another artist. If the original artist notifies me that you have violated his/her usage rules I will take down the art and refuse any further requests from you. I take stealing very seriously and I will not tolerate it.


What if an artist's account was deactivated and I want you to draw something they left posted up?

Uh...as long as it's not written in the artist comments of that the piece, character, creature, etc. is not to be used, then sure. Like for this picture: fav.me/d3l8s3w
